Hu Heping meets with Pansy Ho, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the World Tourism Economic Forum

[June 28, 2023] Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism, met with Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the World Tourism Economic Forum, Pansy Ho, in Beijing to have in-depth exchanges on supporting the upgrading of the World Tourism Economic Forum and promoting the construction of Macau as a world tourism and leisure center. Hu Heping affirmed the positive role played by the World Tourism Economic Forum in promoting the construction of Macao as a world tourism and leisure center and promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries and regions in the world in the fields of tourism, culture, economy and trade. He said that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will continue to fully support Macao in hosting the World Tourism Economic Forum, support the forum in further deepening cooperation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization, launch a "Macao-International" rotating conference model, and enhance the international influence of the forum. It is hoped that the forum will further improve the top-level design, grasp the pulse of the times, deepen cooperation in the tourism industry, promote the development of the tourism economy, and jointly write a new chapter for the recovery, revitalization, and prosperity of the tourism industry. Pansy Ho thanked the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for its long-term support for Macao’s culture and tourism development and the World Tourism Economic Forum. She said that the World Tourism Economic Forum will further deepen cooperation with international organizations and the tourism industry, open up more global cooperation, better assist the construction of Macau as a world tourism and leisure center, and tell the story of China.
