YAN HAN

Deputy Secretary-General of World Tourism Cities Federation
Mr. Yan Han is one of the founding members of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF). He studied at the School of International Studies at Peking University from 2003 to 2008, where he obtained a master’s degree in Law. In 2021, he was awarded a Ph.D. in International Relations. He has been devoted to the research and practices of non-governmental international organizations and cross-cultural exchanges. In addition, he has established strong partnerships with various international tourism organizations, cities, and businesses. Mr. Yan was active in organizing the founding conference of WTCF and the WTCF Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit from 2012 to 2023. In 2014, he hosted the Roundtable on Tourism and Sustainable Development, WTCF’s first international forum, at the United Nations Headquarters. From 2016 to 2019, he delivered keynote speeches at various international tourism destination conferences hosted by UNWTO. Over the years, he has, together with GTEF, organized forums on various topics such as Urban Tourism Consumption. During the 2022 Winter Olympics, Mr. Yan was appointed as the Secretary-General of the Winter Olympics Village and was awarded the honor of the Outstanding Individual for Contributions to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics by the Chinese government. Since 2013, Mr. Yan has actively led the compilation of more than 20 research reports, including the World Tourism Cities Development Report and the Report on World Tourism Economy Trends. Under his guidance, WTCF has seen its membership grow from 58 to 242, covering 85 countries and regions worldwide.
