Dr. Wilfred Wong is the Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd. joining the company in November 2015 as its president. He is also a director of various Sands China subsidiaries, including Venetian Macau Limited. He has over 51 years of extensive management experience in the public and private sectors. He served in the Hong Kong government, including as Deputy Secretary of Civil Service and Deputy Director-General of Industry. In the private sector, he headed a number of Hong Kong listed companies in the property development and construction business sectors. His extensive public service to Hong Kong has included: member of the Basic Law Consultative Committee; member of the Preliminary Working Committee and the Preparatory Committee for establishing the Hong Kong SAR; Deputy to China’s National People’s Congress; chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and subsequently its Arts Development Fund Advisory Committee; current chairman of the Hong Kong Film Development Council; and current vice chairman of the Hong Kong Culture Commission. He served the Macao SAR as member of the Tourism Development Committee and the Committee of Cultural Industries. He is Honorary President of the Macau Research Association for Macau Gaming Law. The Hong Kong SAR government awarded him the Silver Bauhinia Star, Gold Bauhinia Star and Grand Bauhinia medal for public service. Dr. Wong was educated at Harvard University (MPA), the University of Oxford, the University of Hong Kong (BSocSc) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
