Associate Dean of Shenzhen InnoX Academy
Carol Yu is the Associate Dean of Shenzhen InnoX Academy, an ecosystem to nurture innovative and entrepreneurial talents and incubate tech startups. The Academy was founded with Professor Li Zexiang, who has incubated 140+ smart hardware startups, with 1 listed company and 6 unicorn companies and DJI is the most well-known. InnoX provides systematic entrepreneurial studies and support platform to aspiring youth to form teams, identify unfulfilled market needs, invent technology-driven solutions to address them, and deliver these products into the marketplace. Carol was the Assistant Chief Editor, Producer and Host of a weekly television interview show “Visionaries” with global thought leaders at one of the largest global Chinese TV networks Phoenix TV. Her show focuses on the future of technology, health, education and society to help people understand change and prepare for change. “Visionaries” has won Gold Award of “Best Business & Finance Profile Interview” of HSMC Business Journalism Awards for 3 years, and Top 5 of the Hurun China Most Influential Business TV Program in 2020. In recognition of her leadership and influence, she was selected as Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum and Ten Outstanding New Hong Kong Young Persons. Carol received her undergraduate degree in Economics from Stanford University and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. In 2021, Carol published her first book on the future of education, as well as their own experiences and methods of educating children are written into the book. It summarizes the four magic weapons of "inspiration, letting go, accompanying, and leading", and explores with readers how to help Children find their own path.
