Décio dos Santos Brasil has been Secretary of Sport of Brazil since April 2019. An athlete since his youth, Mr. Décio Brasil is a former Army General who was Vice-President of the Army Sports Commission. He was responsible for the cooperation between Army Physical Training Center and Operational Planning Committee of 2011 Military World Games in Rio de Janeiro, and the Army’s sporting activities at major events hosted by Brazil between 2013 and 2016. He was also coordinator of the Army High Performance Athletes Program, and Army coordinator for the Olympic Legacy.
Mr. Décio Brasil studied at the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras(AMAN) and graduated in Physical Education at the Physical Education School of the Army. He also holds a master’s degree and a PhD’s degree in Military Sciences, and postgraduate degree in Politics, Strategy and Senior Management in the Army. In 2000, he studied Sports Administration at the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
