Alison Grinnell is the Group Chief Operating Officer of Marjan and also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Marjan Hospitality, the hospitality arm of the group. In these dual roles, she oversees the Development and Asset Management of Marjan’s hospitality assets, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence.
Prior to her current role, Grinnell served as Chief Executive Officer of RAK Hospitality Holding, following her tenure as Chief Financial Officer. As CEO, she played a pivotal role in partnering with Wynn Resorts and Marjan to develop Wynn Al Marjan Island, the region’s first integrated gaming resort and a key driver of Ras Al Khaimah’s economic and tourism growth. She also led the company’s transformation into the Emirate’s leading hospitality group, overseeing a diverse portfolio of hotels, resorts, leisure, logistics and asset management subsidiaries. Her leadership guided the growth of luxury hotels including The Ritz-Carlton Al Wadi Desert, Rixos Al Mairid, and Pullman Marjan Island Resort, as well as several new landmark developments across the Emirate’s beaches, desert, and mountain destinations
Under her leadership, RAK Hospitality Holding expanded its leisure and adventure portfolio, operating some of the region’s most iconic attractions such as the Jais Flight-World’s Longest Zipline on Jebel Jais, the Bear Grylls Explorers Camp, in addition to developing and operating a 2,300-unit hospitality staff accommodation campus, the first of a number of phases to address the growth across the Hospitality sector
Before her time in Ras Al Khaimah, Grinnell spent nearly 15 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she led the firm’s Hotel Practice for the Middle East. There, she advised global hotel operators, investors, and developers on strategy, investment, and performance optimization across international markets.
