General Manager of Tencent Culture And Tourism Industry
Seven Shu is currently General Manager of Tencent Culture and Tourism Industry, and Deputy Secretary-General of Tencent Research Institute of Internet+ Innovation Center. The founder of two Tencent’s regional portals in Hubei and Hunan, he has been responsible for the Group’s Internet+ business and strategic development since 2015, and mastering “Yunnan at Your Fingertips”, he is the first provincial smart tourism project operator in China. Mr. Shu is a recipient of Tourism Innovator of the Year of 2017 Red Coral Award of Asia Tourism. He was an editor of China’s first Blue Book of New Media Social Responsibility in 2014, and the author of Innovative Research of Internet+ Tourism under the Background of Digital Economy – A Case Study of Tencent Cultural and Tourist Industry, and it published in Chinese Academy of Social Science’s Tourism Green Book of China in 2018.

This session will examine the intersection of smart cities and smart tourism and how it will change the tourism experience. How can a smart city become a smart tourism destination? In the transition to smart tourism, what will be the effects on wellness tourism development? How can smart tourism and wellness tourism development counteract the effects of ‘over-tourism’? What have cities done to encourage wellness experiences for both residents and visitors, thereby increasing happiness? How can cities increase innovation and technological tools and improve tourism competitiveness? How can a city be future-ready?
