In February 1997, he was appointed Vice Minister and the Chief Negotiator of MOFTEC，led China's negotiations for ten years to join the WTO in 2001. Mr. Long did his post graduate study in the London School of Economics in the early 70’s and holds a BA Degree of British and American Literature from Guizhou University. In July, 2006, Mr. Long was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (Economics) by London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
