Chairman, China Chamber Of Tourism

Wang Ping is Chairman of China Chamber of Tourism, Vice Chairman of Global Tourism Economy Forum, Chairman of Tourism Cooperation Committee of China-Africa Business Council and Curator of China Ethnic Museum. She was appointed as Art Consultant of Foreign Affairs Office of the State Council, General Art Supervisor of the China Architecture, Sculpture and Mural Art Company under the Ministry of Construction. She was the 10th and 11th National Committee Member of CPPCC, the 9th and 10th Standing Committee Member of ACFIC. A leading Mainland expert on Anthropology and Museum Studies, she presided over the construction of China Ethnic Museum as Chief Designer in support of the government since 1992, and was the pioneer in adopting Former Site Relocation to preserve and maintain ethnic architecture clusters.

Ms. Wang is also a prominent tourism leader in China, by which she initiated the concept of Pan-Tourism combining tourism with other industries. She has helped to promote Shangri La to become an international tourist destination, involved in planning the Global Tourism Economy Forum with monumental success, suggested and collaborated with Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation to launch the 20 Years Tourism Personnel Training Project for providing top-tier tourism talent for the country, so as to promote the revolutionary idea of driving economic development through tourism for poverty reduction and community betterment.

The UNWTO awarded Chairman Wang Ping in recognition of the significant contribution of outstanding commitment to the development of world tourism at the 22nd session of the UNWTO General Assembly for her contribution in establishing the China Chamber of Tourism, leading China’s private enterprises to make outstanding contribution in poverty alleviation, cultural protection, taking social responsibilities, promoting world cultural exchange and peace process.
