Wang Xinjun joined Ivy Alliance, a globally reputable tourism think tank and tourism development solution provider, as General Manager in 2006. He is currently the Alliance’s President and Chief Executive Officer. With extensive, multi-sector and cross-industry working experience in public, private and academic elds, Dr. Wang joined the Department of Industry Management of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) in 1995. Responsible for managing travel services and outbound tourism industry, he was responsible for the drafting of China outbound tourism policies and regulations. Dr. Wang joined China Comfort Travel Group Ltd. and assumed senior managerial position in March 2001, and concurrently served as General Manager of Beijing Comfort Network Technology Co., Ltd and board member of FCm Travel Solutions. Earned his doctorate degree in Peking University in 1995, Dr. Wang was the first Doctor of Philosophy in China focusing on tourism development and investment research. He founded International Forum on Chinese Outbound Tourism (IFCOT) in 2003, and has been successfully organizing the event annually. In addition, Dr. Wang is a core expert invited by CNTA to involve in the drafting and amendments of important tourism rules, regulations and standards. He has also been a Member of Panel of Tourism Experts of UNWTO since 2010.

By 2020, with the total number of trips made by Chinese citizens estimated to reach 6.7 billion, the total revenue of China's tourism industry is expected to exceed 7 trillion Yuan while tourism investment will reach 2 trillion Yuan. Huge demand generates enormous opportunities of investment. What are the industries or projects that may be favored by Chinese tourism investment in the next five years?  

With the promotion of the “Belt & Road” initiative and high-speed growth of Chinese outbound tourist flows, investment and M&A by Chinese companies have shown increased significantly. How do Chinese investment organizations evaluate the potential of “Belt & Road” countries? What types of tourism projects will most likely attract investment from Chinese companies?
